The Third Thought |
Long-form improv in Tampa Bay! The Third Thought is dedicated to creating truthful long form improv. Since forming in 2011 through a random series of incidents, the Third Thought has been celebrating the randomness of life at venues including the Del Close Marathon, American Stage, Coconut's Comedy Club. The Third Thought brings something new and different to Tampa Bay as one of the region's only long-form improv groups. |

Doing it up O-Town style!
On Sunday, we performed at the Orlando Improv Festival which was pretty much the funnest ever (obviously besides the Del Close Marathon, but that’s because it’s the fucking Del Close Marathon).
We performed on the same bill as The Second Thought from Ocala, Florida, and their short-form set was awesome!
We had a great show, and it was so much fun really entertaining the crowd. Thank you so much to everyone who made it out! If you couldn’t make it up to O-Town, here’s the video of our performance, complete with 40 year-old-virgins, cussing high school teachers unions, America’s Next Top Child Bride and all!
It’s official! The Third Thought is performing at the Orlando Improv Festival on Sunday, September 25th at 10:00 p.m. We will be on the same ticket as The Early Show and Second Thought Improv. More information is available on the festival’s website - www.orlandoimprovfestival.com
I love Improv Festivals. They remind me of how fun the improv community is and how much talent is out there.
The DCM13 was no exception, with amazing teams performing 24/7 and an overwhelming amount of things to do at the three theatres and in the City in general.
It was great to bring a team from Florida up to play in the big leagues and have a blast doing it, and it was a fantastic networking opportunity. I love meeting people I have read about and people I respect and having an actual conversation with them in a relaxed atmosphere where everyone is on the same level.
It also confirmed my desire to do improv, and do it big. Hey, people are improvising daily as it is, might as well put it on stage. Its the realest theatre you can watch.
Going into the Del Close Marathon I wasn’t exactly sure how it would work, what the vibe would be or what I would take away from it all.
In total, I was able to catch 26 performances over the course of the event. I got to meet some of my comedy improv heroes whose comedic sensability is similar to my own.
I had a chance to learn in a workshop from Kevin Mullaney of www.improvresourcecenter.com who was the first artistic director at UCBNY.
I got to bond with a group of individuals who have become a family to me over the past half year and for that I am most grateful.
We are doing this again…
